*****Contract Negotiations*****

Just a quick update to let everyone know that my board and I are working diligently with our lead negotiator.  We have our proposals ready to submit to management.  Now that summer vacations have winded down, we are hoping to meet with management in the near future.  Please share this information with other members and encourage them to create an account for this website for any updates.

Update of Traumatic Incident on 8/8/18

I would like to inform our membership, as well as ALL hospital employees, that a meeting did take place today with management.  Not only CSEA, but NYSNA and CIR representatives met with the Chief Security Officer, the Systems Director of Emergency Management, as well as Labor Relations, for a follow up of last weeks incident.  All of our issues and concerns were voiced and we demanded immediate action be taken and insisted weekly meetings be held to address communication, response, training, and hospital access.  We are in the process of setting up a meeting next week and will be making this a priority.

Union Addresses Code Silver Incident

I would like to take this time to address the tragic occurrence that took place yesterday. While we had no control over this traumatic incident, please know that your CSEA Executive board, your local officers as well as the Region officers are here to answer any questions or address any of your concerns. There is a meeting scheduled with management for late Monday afternoon and we will update you after we meet. The hospital has provided counseling in the Caregiver Center and you can reach out to the Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-955-6422 for those seeking support.  Please feel free to contact me or any of the unit officers.

*****AETNA ARBITRATION A VICTORY FOR UNIT 9201*****

A big THANK YOU to my Executive Board, Attorney Nathaniel Charny,(Charny & Wheeler) and CSEA Inc.for the amazing job that led to an amazing victory!  We won the Class Action against WMC for the astronomical increase in co pays and out of pocket expenses.  The award letter from the arbitrator states “the Corporation shall make adversely affected employees whole by reimbursement of the costs in excess of five percent incurred by the employee because of the adopted plan design changes”

I will update with any information as I get it in regards to reimbursement.
